Terms of Service
These terms apply to Gulf ID (“the Service”), a Shopify app published by Trifid Media LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
To use the Service you must:
- operate a Shopify store in good standing and be authorized to install apps on it;
- be 18 or older; and
- comply with Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy.
2. The Service
Gulf ID lets you:
- show a box in your cart (and optionally on product pages) where buyers enter a Gulf ID number or the Saudi National Address short code;
- check those numbers with offline rules (length and format, and the check digit for Saudi national IDs and Iqamas); and
- block checkout, per delivery country, when a number you require is missing or not valid.
The checks only confirm that a number is well formed. They do not confirm that the number exists, belongs to the buyer, or is accepted by a courier or customs authority.
3. Plans and billing
- Free: USD 0. Saudi national ID / Iqama, the cart page and cart drawer box, Arabic and English.
- Pro: USD 4.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial. The UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, the Saudi short address, the cart-value and tagged-product conditions, the product-page box and custom messages.
Charges are billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app; charges already billed are not refunded except where required by law or Shopify’s policies. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice to active subscribers.
4. Your responsibilities
- You decide which numbers to require and for which countries. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to ask buyers for an ID number, for telling them why (for example in your store’s privacy policy), and for how you and your couriers use and keep it.
- You are responsible for making sure your checkout complies with the laws that apply to your store, including consumer-protection and data-protection law.
- Check that the box and the checkout rule work on your theme as you expect before relying on them. Shopify draft orders shared with the option to skip checkout rules are not checked.
5. Data and privacy
How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: we access only the Shopify permissions listed there, we store no customer data on our servers, and we never sell data.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- copy, resell or redistribute the Service without our written agreement;
- reverse-engineer the Service or try to get around plan limits; or
- use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent or against Shopify’s policies.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every theme will show the box, or that a number which passes the checks is genuine or will be accepted by a courier or customs authority.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost sales or indirect or consequential damages.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service in breach of these terms, Shopify’s policies or applicable law, including how you collect and use ID numbers.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes we will update the date above and tell active merchants through the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Termination
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end the Service for breach of these terms. Sections 5, 7, 8 and 9 continue to apply after termination.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of Dubai, unless mandatory law where you are based says otherwise.
